Ana Domingos
Ana Domingos is a Coordinating Investigator at the Global Health and Tropical Medicine (GHTM) research center of the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, NOVA University of Lisbon (IHMT/UNL). She holds a PhD in Biology from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL, 1997) and a Habilitation in Biomedical Sciences – Parasitology from NOVA University of Lisbon (UNL, 2011).
She currently coordinates the Vector-Borne Diseases research group at GHTM. In addition, she teaches and coordinates master’s courses in Medical Parasitology and Biomedical Sciences at IHMT/UNL and contributes to other postgraduate programs. She is also actively involved in several PhD programs and specialized training courses in Mozambique and Cape Verde.
Her research focuses on parasite–vector interactions, applying systems biology approaches—including proteomics, transcriptomics, functional genomics, and immunoinformatics—to identify vaccine candidates and drug targets for tick-associated diseases.
Ana Domingos has led several funded research projects and has authored 105 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
She served on the scientific committees of the TTP11 Congress (2024) and the WOHC Congress (2026).
She is also a member of the IHMT Scientific Council and the General Council of NOVA University of Lisbon.
