Santiago Nava
Santiago Nava graduated in Zoology from the National University of La Plata (Argentina) and obtained his PhD from the same institution in 2008. He is currently a Principal Researcher at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET), Researcher in Veterinary Parasitology at the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) and is the head of the Animal Health Group and the Immunology and Parasitology Laboratory at INTA EEA Rafaela, in Rafaela, Santa Fe, Argentina. His research focuses on the systematics, ecology, and control of ticks, as well as the epidemiology of tick-borne pathogens. In this field, he has published approximately 300 scientific articles, two books, and 11 book chapters, and has delivered more than 80 lectures at international and national conferences, workshops, and training courses across the Americas, Europe, and Africa. He has also served as a consultant and advisor to veterinarians, cattle producers, pharmaceutical companies, and government agencies. Dr. Nava coordinates multiple research projects on ticks of medical and veterinary importance and maintains active collaborations with scientists from more than 20 countries across the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
